Abstract
An early presentation of ongoing research on comparing Layer 2 techniques for scaling blockchains. This preliminary version presents the initial framework and findings that would later be developed into the full paper presented at RECSI 2022.
The talk introduces the blockchain scalability problem and surveys the main off-chain scaling approaches, laying the groundwork for the systematic comparison of their usability, security, and cost properties.
